PwC hires Bob Hair to build up family office service

Former Turcan Connell head of financial planning Bob Hair has joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a director of its investment advisory division, where he aims to help build up its family office services.

Hair was at Turcan Connell Asset Management from 2004 until November 2013, most recently holding the roles of executive director and head of financial planning.

He joined PwC in December 2013 where he will look to build up its regional family office services.

Hair (pictured) said: 'One of the things I did in the past for Turcan Connell was to design and run their family office service. As a global consulting network, PwC is extremely well placed to provide such an interdisciplinary approach and does so for many clients already, but perhaps with less of a regional focus and with more of a national and international focus.'

'PwC has a fast-growing and high quality investment advisory business and I was asked to join the firm to further strengthen the business, help drive it forward as part of the leadership team and to continue to look after the interests of private clients and their families.'

Following Hair's departure from Turcan Connell Derek Blaik has been appointed financial planning director.

Prior to joining Turcan Connell Hair was an area manager at Gerrard, since taken over by Barclays Wealth, for five years between 1999 and 2004. He was also a financial planning consultant at Scottish Widows between 1995 to 1999.
