I haven't tried Fenty's lip gloss formula, but I have a sneaky suspicion that this gloss is based on the Diamond Milk effect but in the form of a lip-plumper. I'm not new to Primarks lip products/plumpers so, I was partly dreading my curiosity but mostly hoping that they would've improved their formula. Thankfully they have, because the last lip plumper, I had from the brand (which came in a set) had a thin consistency and burnt my lips to cinders *figuratively*. No joke, that stuff was dangerous ... Anyway, no more blib-blabbering about the past let's get to this review, shall we?
Diamond Milk - I mean "Clear Lip Plumper" by Primark costs £3.00. Since there are no testers in store because of the flesh-eating zombie ... I mean pandemic you might probably have searched on the web and found this review to see how it looks. Hello stranger ... Sorry (not sorry) it's taking me so long to get to the point but, it is my kind of style - just flow with it.
Ahem, like I was saying - When I first pulled this lip gloss out of the box I was so disappointed to have bought a silvery shade - if you're dark-skinned you'll know how pale silvery white-based shades can be our kryptonite. So, I braced myself to be severely disappointed but, thankfully I wasn't. That's why I think that Primark has been eyeing up some formulas (Diamond Milk by Fenty) and actually took into consideration that their product might need to cater to a wider variety of people than those of a lighter complexion. Thus, unlike the failings of many silvery lip glosses of the past - the shimmer in this lip gloss is super fine and wearable for dark skin. Yes, y'all I can actually go outside with this.
Now, when it comes to the plumping results feelings - it is very warming (hot pepper sauce), to say the least, but much more bearable than the previous one I bought from the brand (straight up fire). It has a smooth balmy consistency when you first put it on, but over time it does become thinner, and just like many other lip plumpers - the verdict is still out as to whether it helps enlarge my lips. I mainly lip like plumping products because often they have a really nice consistency (this is nice but not my favourite) and the warming/cooling effects makes me more aware that I've applied something.
End Thoughts: I like it, it's not my favourite formula or type of lip plumper but, it is pretty. I doubt this product will last as a staple at Primark - not sure of anything has - but, if it does this isn't the worse thing to buy. I look forward to experimenting with this.
Have you tried any makeup products from Primark?
